    1. Disorders of the Pituitary
      1. Pituitary adenomas
      2. Hypersecretion of Growth Hormone - gigantism & acromegaly
      3. Hyposecretion of Growth Hormone - pituitary dwarfism
    2. Disorders of the Thyroid
      1. Graves' disease: excessive TH - Autoimmune disease where Ab's mimic TSH, cause elevation in TH levels.  Characterized by increased BMR, sweating, nervousness, weight loss, loss of hair protruberance of the eyes.
    3. Disorders of the Adrenal Cortex
      1. Cushing's syndrome (can be caused by pituitary adenoma)
        1. Long-term increase in cortisol causes high plasma glucose and loss of protein from muscles and bones.  Symptoms include a swollen "moon" face, redistribution of fat to the post neck ("buffalo hump"), and depression of the immune system.
      2. Addison's disease - decreased cortosol and aldosterone secretion
        1. Characterized by severe dehydration and low blood pressure.
